Grant aims to get kids outdoors

Three councillors have given a total of £3,000 towards a school’s outdoor play equipment.

Councillors Manzur Hasan, James Le Sage and Sam Chauhan have helped St John Baptist Primary School, Spalding, through the Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) Scheme.
It aims to enhance children’s outdoor play play experiences by providing them with the necessary resources to explore, learn and engage its outdoor activities
In a joint statement the councillors said: “By supporting the St John Baptist Primary school we are ensuring that the students have access to a stimulating and enriching environment.
“We are proud to have a positive impact on the lives of the pupils at the school.
“Outdoor play is essential for children to develop physical and mental well being and we are committed to providing them with the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and stimulating outdoor environment.”
