The final game of the night saw Dynamo Kiev ease past Tekkerslovakia 1-0 as both sides prepare for next season.
It was a topsy-turvy game with both sides enjoying moments of brilliance – and Macauley Grimwood was again on point with his latest MOTM showing.
TEAM FOCUS: MAIL CARTERS
Always up for a laugh and always playing the game in the right spirit, Mail Carters might not possess the best ability or talent – but what they lack in class they more than make up for in character.
Personality Lee Copland makes up the back-line with his never-say-die attitude and, after merging with EPH Allstars, actually have a decent outfit, which makes games tricky for their opposition.
They have avoided the dreaded wooden spoon this year – but the results don’t matter for Carters, they just come to play.
Captain Ben Goddard said: “We love it. We play every week knowing we’ll probably lose but we don’t care. It’s the highlight of our week.
“We play on Monday and Thursday and the result really isn’t important. If we win then great, if not then so be it.
“We’re just a bunch of mates having a great time. We’ve really enjoyed some of the matches this season.
“The games against Simple and Evolution are always fun. Plus we enjoyed our win against Balotellitubbies. We’re happy to avoid the wooden spoon but really don’t mind where we finish up.
“Since Joe (Lewsey) and some of the EPH lads have joined us we have improved, but it’s still fun. Some teams take themselves far too seriously and we’re determined for that to never to be us, even if it means we lose every week. We’re hoping to get a nice big win against Hardly next week to finish the season, and actually we could finish tenth.”
