A village bowls clubs that’s been hit by thieves four times in the last year says it’s having to get expensive security measures.
In the latest incident, Gosberton Bowls Club was broken into during the early hours of Monday, September 17.
Most of the alcohol was left behind but bottles of wine were taken.
Chocolate bars and fizzy pop were also taken, along with all of the packets of nuts, around £20 cash from the till and the club’s hoover.
Windows and clocks were also smashed.
The club was broken into twice two months ago, just a week after secretary Malcolm Dennis had suffered a stroke.
He was the person who found the most recent damage.
“The thieves have taken nothing really compared to what it will cost us to clear up,” Malcolm said. “I went to hoover up all the glass has been smashed and that’s when I realised they’d had taken that. It’s all stuff we’re going to have to fund ourselves to replace.”
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “Anyone with any info is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 162 of September 17.”
