Good news for primary school

A Spalding primary school is well led and a place where ‘pupils love to learn,’ says a new Ofsted report.

St John the Baptist Church of England Primary School remains a good school with high expectations for both work and behaviour.
“Pupils strive to meet these high expectations and to model the school’s values. These values thread through all aspects of school life. Pupils are very friendly and courteous. Living out the school mantra of ‘ready, respectful and safe,’” says the report.
With 436 children aged from four to 11, the school, now has a redesigned curriculum and meets the needs of them all.
“Teachers bring the curriculum to life for pupils,” said the report.
“Leaders place reading at the very heart of the curriculum,” it adds.
“Leaders identify pupils with Special Educational Needs without delay.”
The school needs to develop pupils’ age-appropriate understanding of British values to improve, and the new curriculum needs to be fully embedded, said the inspection.
