Problems with your feet can affect every area of your life, so keeping them in tip top health should be a top priority.
And that’s where a podiatrist comes in . . .
Gail Davidson based at Total Health Clinic at High Street, Spalding, is a qualified podiatrist with a BSc Honours degree in podiatry and is registered with the health care professional council.
She offers a free 15-minute foot health care check where advice will be given on what treatments are required.
Most regular sessions last around 30 to 45 mins but new patients get a one hour session.
A session consists of a general visual check of the foot, pulses palpated and nerves checked.
A bio mechanical assessment may be necessary to define whether foot problems may be caused by the way someone walks as a podiatrist treats from the hips to the feet.
Any age group can benefit – from children with verrucas to people with sports injuries and more common problems such as fungal nail infections, dry/hard skin which can be caused by incorrect walking and advice will be given on how to treat.
Podiatrists may recommend that a patient needs advice from a doctor on a particular problem and alternately a doctor may recommend an appointment with the podiatrist.
