A member of local friendship group Nene and Welland Oddfellows, opened her Pinchbeck home for a garden tea party for friends and locals looking for extra company nearby.
Christine Sargeant’s open house event on September 28 marked the group’s Big Friendship Month.
Now in its ninth year, the Oddfellows’ aim is to provide easy ways for people of all ages to come together, have fun as a community, and to form lasting friendships.
Karen Earth, district secretary for the Nene and Welland Branch, said: “We understand how tough it can be to get out there and form new friendships, especially the older we all get, which is why the Oddfellows places such emphasis on acknowledging Friendship Month.
“Thanks to Christine, our member, opening up her home, we all had lots of fun at our garden tea party.
“It was positive to see the start of many blossoming friendships among our established members and newer faces to the society.
“We host lots of events throughout the year and welcome anybody who enjoyed their time with us to register for our full calendar of activities and join us again soon.”
One of Nene and Welland Oddfellows’ monthly events is lunch at the Riverside Hotel, 123 Station Road, Surfleet, every third Wednesday of the month at 12.30pm
