GALLERY – Successful day for 49th parade

Moulton Chapel’s 49th Tulip Time Parade has been hailed a great success.

Taking place on Sunday, the parade of around 15 floats and ten vintage vehicles was led by Jonathan Kelly, dressed as the fifth Doctor Who.

Other floats included Moulton Chapel royalty, Moulton Chapel Primary School, Spalding Young Farmers, Spalding Flower Parade, Holbeach Town Band, Pavanotti, Retrospekt and an armoured vehicle provided by Harold Payne.

There were 25 stalls covering charity, craft, food and entertainment and it’s estimated that there were around 2,000 visitors throughout the day.

MP Sir John Hayes judged the winning float – a tribute to Brenda Carrott (Moulton Chapel’s oldest resident who passed away earlier this year at 109).

Tom Twigger, committee chairman, said: “The 49th Moulton Chapel Parade was a great success, with a fantastic array of stalls and floats, entertainment for the whole family.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to the local businesses, volunteers, participants and groups (especially Community Response Lincolnshire and Holbeach Air Cadets) who made the event possible.

“Next year we are celebrating 50 years of the parade and will be hoping to make it bigger and better for Sunday, May 2, 2027. We hope to see you there!”
