A touch of brass from ambassadors

A local band has paraded through the streets of Lincoln.

Spalding Marching Ambassadors helped the streets come alive with colour, music and celebration for St George’s Day.

Marching through the grounds of Lincoln Castle and onward to the magnificent Lincoln Cathedral, the band played to enthusiastic spectators who lined the streets, clapping and cheering in support.

The parade organised by Lincoln Scouts culminated in front of the cathedral’s grand façade, providing a breathtaking backdrop to a truly memorable occasion.

A spokesman for the band said: “The talented young musicians delivered a vibrant performance that resonated with crowds on the historic route.

“Positioned halfway along the parade, the band ensures that the energy and rhythm carry throughout, giving those at the rear the same uplifting musical experience as those at the front.

“Beyond performances, the group continues to champion the wider benefits of music and teamwork.

“Being part of a marching band offers young people the opportunity not only to learn an instrument, but also to build confidence, develop social skills, and experience the pride of working together towards a shared goal.

“It’s a chance to gain lifelong skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.”
