Gallery – Monkshouse pupils look to India

Children at Monkshouse Primary School in Spalding have been given The Indian Experience ahead of Diwali.

The school was visited by Sunita Patel who helped children create traditional Rangoli artwork as shown, as well as speaking about some of the stories surrounding the festival that gets under way next month.

The sessions have been run by Lincolnshire-based The Indian Experience which provides sessions learning about the culture from Sunita Patel.

Mrs Patel said: “It’s been really great coming into the school and involving the children in Rangoli prints which is something they wouldn’t normally get to do.

“It’s been great to see the children’s faces learning about the culture and seeing their artwork being unveiled.”
