Free offer for fans to see Spalding over finish line

It is all down to the last day of the Northern Premier League season to decide who goes up as Midlands Division champions and who must battle through two more games.

Spalding United will be backed by a huge crowd at the Sir Halley Stewart stadium as they welcome Coleshill Town where a victory will secure the crown. However, anything short of that would hand the glory to Anstey Nomads if they can overcome Sutton Coldfield.
The Tulips are offering free entry to Saturday’s key game, 3pm, and chairman Andrew Killingsworth said: “We have achieved nothing yet and have one big home fixture and really do need your support and the 12th person for what will be a big test for us.
“Elliot (Sandy, manager) and the team have done superbly to put us in the position and this is an opportunity for us to pull all the people of Spalding together to help. Free entry is also a big thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the season. We need your help for one more game.”
Sandy said: “Coleshill are a good side. They were in the play-offs last year and have good players.
“It will be a really difficult game. We have to prepare ourselves properly but I’m always confident in our boys.
“We need to win and will be doing everything we can to get that win. Please turn out in your numbers because it could be an important day in Spalding’s history.”
If Spalding should slip up, they are guaranteed a home tie in the semi-final and play-off final.
Next Tuesday would see them at home to the fifth highest finishers, with third playing fourth in the other play-off. The two winners will meet at the highest-placed finisher in the final on Saturday, May 4 for the chance to gain promotion.
