Both Spalding United and Holbeach United lost 3-1 away from home on Saturday, while Moulton Harrox and Pinchbeck United enjoyed home wins.
Starting with Spalding, they suffered defeat at Evo-Stik NPL First Division South leaders Shaw Lane AFC In what was Chris Rawlinson’s first game as boss.
Gavin Allott gave the hosts a 1-0 lead with a goal on 30 minutes, but the second-placed Tulips hit back to level when Nathan Stainfield (51) converted Lee Beeson’s delivery.
Parity only lasted 12 minutes, however, with Allott (63) putting Shaw Lane 2-1 up before Gary Burnett (74) clinched the points.
The loss leaves Spalding six points behind the leaders having played a huge five games more.
They are also just three points ahead of Witton Albion and Newcastle Town, who have six games and one game in hand on them respectively.
Fifth-placed AFC Rushden and Diamonds, who Spalding visit on Tuesday night (7.45pm), are also four points behind the Tulips with two games in hand – meaning a play-off place is by no means a guarantee with 12 games to go.
Meanwhile, Holbeach saw their two-game winning run in ChromaSport UCL Premier Division ended at lowly Kirby Muxloe.
All of the goals came in the second half, with Leon Frey, Josh Burniston and Ryan Seal the Kirby scorers. Stuart Muldrew did haul Holbeach level at one point.
The loss sees the Tigers fall to eighth place, with Wisbech Town now ahead of them in the table.
In the ChromaSport PDFL, Pinchbeck needed an injury-time winner from Ollie Maltby to beat Deeping Rangers Reserves 4-3 at Knight Street.
The goal was Maltby’s fourth of the match – netting on 30, 36, 41 and 90 minutes as Ian Dunn’s side came back from going a goal down and then blowing a 3-1 lead.
Pinchbeck remain second in the table, but are now just a point behind leaders Peterborough Sports Reserves.
Moulton are third, three points further back, after beating visitors Leverington Sports 4-2 at Broad Lane.
Elsewhere in the top tier, Stilton United beat Crowland Town 3-0 and Holbeach United Reserves were defeated 2-1 at home by Thorney.
In Division One, rock-bottom Spalding United Reserves romped to an 11-0 victory over Riverside to register their first success of the season in emphatic fashion.
Leaders Moulton Harrox Reserves made it 20 wins from 21 games as they won 6-1 at Glinton and Northborough, while Sutton Bridge Reserves were 3-0 victors over Kings Cliffe and Long Sutton Athletic prevailed 2-1 at Baston.
