Food bank’s clothing collection for Ukrainian refugees

For the next three lunch times a Spalding food bank is collecting donations of clothes, nappies or wet wipes to be delivered to Ukrainian refugees.

The Agape Food Bank, which is based at The Lighthouse church on Haverfield Road, is opening its doors from 12pm to 2pm today (Tuesday March 8), tomorrow and Thursday.

A volunteer from the food bank is set to drive collected goods to the border of Ukraine which has been invaded by Russian leading to around two million having fled the country.

A spokesman said: “If you would like to donate clothing, nappies or wet wipes for Ukrainian refugees please bring them to the food bank on Tuesday and Thursday this week from 12 to 2pm.

“One of our volunteers will ensure they are given to those who will deliver them to the Ukraine border at the end of the month.

“Thank you very much, in advance, for your generosity.”
