A woman is working towards creating 2,023 different flowers for next year’s Spalding Flower Parade as a thank you for a home’s care for her dad.
Avril Barker has made 1,000 flowers for Cedar Falls’ float for Spalding Flower Parade so far.
She’s aiming to make 2,023 in total for next year’s event as part of a thank you for the care her father and grandfather.
She’s crafted, knitted, and made flowers, knitted bees and felt leaves, all to contribute.
A spokesman for the home said: “Many thanks to Avril, Linda Hobbs and Annette Scase for their dedication and hard work.”
Friend Trudy Roberts, whose father Tony Skillington is a resident at Cedar Falls, said: “I’m sure Avril will achieve 2,023 flowers, with not one of them being the same.
“She is one determined lady with a heart of gold.”
