Flats plan passed for former social club

An empty listed building in the centre of Spalding is to be turned into flats.

The former Geest Social Club on Spring Gardens, which was most recently a dance studio, is to be made into seven homes after planning approval was granted last night (Wednesday).

Coun Jack Tyrrell said: “It’s a great building where I’ve spent many a time. It’s a shame to see it go this way but everything has to move on.”

SHDC Planning Committee chair Coun James Avery added: “The report gives me confidence that inside and outside the heritage of this building will be protected.”
