Five-star BSC A open up lead after fine win

Bourne SC A have moved three points clear at the top of Spalding and District Snooker League Division One after a 5-1 victory over Services A on Thursday night.

Wins from Ian Gibson (scr), Max Ayliff (O14), Ian Clare (scr) and Carl Gibson (O14) got the job done for the table-toppers, with star man Mark Gray (O105) the only man beaten as Chris Dunmore (O28) took his scalp.
Carl Gibson’s 33 was the highlight for the leaders, who have won four out of five games so far.
Club-mates Bourne SC C were also in winning form as they toppled hosts Services C 4-2. Sean Jeynes (O14) starred with a 39 break in that one, while Shane Cummins (O21) notched a 32 for defeated Services.
Another side on winning form was Pyramid C, who edged past Holbeach C 4-2.
Alfonso Palumbo (O42) gave the Bourne boys the perfect start with a 35 break and 22 clearance in frame one, while Jason Green (O56) also reeled off a 33 break to seal the win.
Another 4-2 win in the top tier went the way of Donigton C, who dispatched Long Sutton A 4-2.
Neil Reynolds (O49) made a 33 break for the victorious home side, while Tom Horspool (O49) hit back with scores of 32 and 20.
In Division Two, Services D are two points clear following a 5-1 home success over Consti I.
Jake Haslam (scr) racked up a 22 break in the third frame for the early leaders.
Two points behind them are Services B, who defeated friendly foes Services E 5-1.
Their frame winners were Paul Doades (scr), Tim Nash (P21), Jeff Collins (R7) and Alan Hansard (scr).
Elsewhere, Consti B grabbed their second win of the season as they saw off Pyramid B. Martin Fear (scr) settled that one in the final frame.
Down in Division Three, Gosberton D are a point ahead of the rest after their 5-1 triumph at Consti J.
Nev Vickers (scr) denied the visitors a whitewash by seeing off Brad Brinkman (O14).
At the other end of the table, Whittlesey B grabbed their first victory of the campaign as they dispatched Donington D 5-1.
Their wins came from Andy Skutela (R14), Pawel Skutela (R7), Kerry Skutela (R28) and Michael Foster (O21).
It was close as Gosberton B got the better of Consti by a very narrow 4-2 and Stuart Ruskin (R7) won the final frame.
The score was also 4-2 as Gosberton C picked up a hard-fought success over Boundary B.
