Fitter’s fabulous 50 lights up league

A stunning 50 break from Craig Fitter (O63) lit up the Spalding and District Snooker League on its return following the Christmas break.

Fitter knocked in the half-century on his way to victory over Steve Dent (scr) but still only snatched the win by a single point.
His success got Services A off to a great start in their 5-1 win over Holbeach A in Division One.
Other winners on the night were Vince Fitter (O35), who got a 24 break, Chris Dunmore (O35), with a 27 clearance and Kev Emerson (R14).
Wayne Dent (O49) got the single frame for Holbeach.
The win moves Services up to fourth in the table.
Bourne SC C have taken the top spot after getting the better of clubmates Bourne SC B 5-1.
George Neary-Phillips (O21), Sean Jeynes (O14), Chris Page (O7) and Martin Ulyatt (O7) got the wins in that one.
Pyramid C saw off former leaders Bourne SC A 5-1.
Jason Green (O56) was the only loser for Pyramid but a 29 break offered some consolation.
Winners were Dave Pearson (O7), Spencer Dawkins (O56), Alfonso Palumbo (O42) and Richard Skellett (O14).
Pyramid D beat Consti E 4-2.
Consti’s Simon Law (O7) got the better of James Sharpe (O42) despite Sharpe’s 30 break.
Taking the other frame for Consti was Sam Roberts (R21), while Pete Grose (scr), Josh Agger (O7) and Dennis Pearson (scr) won for Pyramid.
Three matches in the division were postponed.
In Division Two, Consti G are holding on to the top spot, despite losing 4-2 to friendly foes Consti B.
That win boosts the B team from ninth to fourth.
Holbeach F have dropped from fourth to sixth after losing 5-1 to Services B.
Winners on the night were Jason Rose (O21), Jeff Collins (R7), Paul Doades (scr) and Alan Hansard (scr).
James Quinton (O14) got the point for Holbeach.
Holbeach E have moved into third place after a 5-1 home win over Services D.
Chris Back (O42) was helped on his way to a win by a 37 break.
Consti I got their second win of the season thanks to a 5-1 victory over Pyramid B.
Winners were John Bellerby (R7), Pete Stokes (R7), Stewart Wells (R14) and Richard Geddes (R21).
Adam Gibbs (R14) got the point for Pyramid.
Consti F got a 4-2 home win over Gosberton A.
A 23 break from Martin Perkins (O28) and a 22 from Robert Adams (O14) helped Consti to the win.
Holbeach B have held on to second place with a 5-1 win over Consti H.
In Division Three, Gosberton D and Whittlesey C are still in first and second, after their match against each other was cancelled.
Donington B are still in third following a 5-1 win over Boundary B.
Winners were Gavin Lewis (O7), Pete Burrell (scr), Phil Burrell (R7) and Shaun Pickering (R14), while Adam Blades (R7) got the point for Boundary B.
Gosberton B saw off Whittlesey A 4-2 thanks to wins from Nigel Goodwin (R21), Stuart Ruskin (R7) and Simon Slinger (R14).
Whittlesey’s winners were Graeme Sawyer (O14) and Malc Bruce (scr).
Consti J are still in fourth place after a 4-2 win over clubmates Consti C, who are now second from bottom.
Whittlesey B climbed four places to eighth thanks to their 4-2 win at home over fifth-placed Pyramid E.
Donington D got off the foot of the table after beating Consti A 4-2 at home.
