Firm celebrates 200th anniversary

A South Holland solicitors company has celebrated 200 years in business.

Mossop & Bowser, has a main office in Holbeach and premises in Long Sutton, was set up in 1826 by Robert Mossop.

To celebrate the huge milestone, more than 150 guests gathered for a party in the sunshine recently, including staff, their families, local business contacts, and members of the original Mossop family.

There was a special history display collated from the Mossop & Bowser archives, including the history of Abbots Manor.

At the event senior partner, Mark Hill thanked consultant solicitor Peter Brown for an extraordinary 51 years of service while two new partners, Gemma Newton and Oliver Farmer were formally recognised alongside introducing the next generation of young lawyers and trainees ready to continue the firm’s legacy far into the future.

“We are incredibly proud to have been trusted legal advisors for generations of local families and businesses,” a spokesperson for Mossop & Bowser said: “We thank our clients for their enduring trust and look forward to serving this community for many more years to come.”
