Garages destroyed in fire at Spalding home

Two garages were destroyed following a blaze at a Spalding property on Wednesday afternoon, (October 23).

Smoke was seen coming from the back of a property between Pennygate and Brown’s Gate in the town around 3.30pm.

Crews from Spalding, Kirton and Bourne attended the incident, which started in one of the garages, at 3.16pm.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: “”The fire was extinguished using four hose reels and thermal imaging cameras.

“This resulted in severe damage by fire to the two garages and their contents. There was also moderate fire damage to three metres of conifers and fencing.

“The cause of the fire is unknown.”
