Calling all photographers – there are only a few days left for you to get your entries submitted.
The Voice has joined forces with Spalding Photographic Society and Spalding and District Civic Society to give readers the chance to have a picture featured in an exhibition.
A display of work has been roving around the town since May and a Voice reader could have their own picture added to the final leg of the show.
The societies have joined forces to mark the 50th anniversary of the Act of Parliament which established conservation areas.
The Civic Amenities Act created the areas and it was a turning-point in terms of protecting historic areas from both developers and traffic.
The Spalding Conservation Area was designated in 1970 and extended further five years later and again in 2007.
Photographers are invited to submit a picture taken within Spalding Conservation Area for the exhibition.
The pictures will be judged and the winner added to the exhibition’s next leg which is due to move from Ayscoughee Museum to Broad Street Methodist Church on Tuesday, September 5 and then South Holland District Council offices, Priory Road, on September 19.
Each picture needs to have a title and entries are limited to four per person.
They can be of any subject within the Conservation Area and either colour or monochrome.
The entries can be emailed to: [email protected] or a print can be sent to: The Spalding and South Holland Voice, 14-16 WInsover Road, Spalding, PE11 1EJ.
Please ensure emailed pictures are at least 300dpi for printing purposes.
Don’t forget to include your contact details, with a daytime telephone number, with your entries. The closing date is Wednesday, August 30. The winner will also receive a large, framed print of their picture.
