Farewell to CCTV volunteer

VNG230614-11A volunteer who has played an important role in catching scores of criminals has been given a good send-off.

Clarke Converse has been a volunteer in Spalding’s CCTV monitoring station for six years and the voice on the radio for the town’s Shopwatch scheme.

He was presented with a certificate and gift by Insp Jim Tyner at Spalding police station as he bid farewell to return to America.

He was also presented with a card by Julie Grant on behalf of Shopwatch.

Insp Tyner said: “Clarke has given hundreds of hours of unpaid work and is familiar to many shops as the voice of Shopwatch.

“His hard work behind the scenes has been responsible for the apprehension of many criminals in Spalding.

“I will miss his cheerful enthusiasm and dedication.”
