Fancy dress for a cause ‘deer’ to Osten

A 15-year-old from Long Sutton has dressed as a reindeer for the day to raise money for the hospital that treated him when he was young.

Osten Woodhouse raised over £100 for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn by dressing up at the University Academy Long Sutton yesterday (Thursday, December 19).

“Before the age of eight I was in a Child’s Ward for three different reasons,” Osten said on his fundraiser “At six-months-old I was in ICU with pneumonia and bronchiolitis and went back in two further times, once for surgery.

“The staff on the children’s wards were amazing and not only supported me but also my mum and dad.”

Mum Ingrid Woodhouse said: “Osten is very quiet usually and at 6ft 4 tries to hide in the crowd.

“So for him to ask to do this, we as his parents thought he was joking.

“He wanted to do something to support the charity that the school is also supporting this year.”
