A Spalding family firm working to improve the lives of those with sight issues is to hold an event to help provide equipment that people might otherwise struggle to afford.
VisionAid based at Bridge Lodge at Spalding Common was set up by John Ellis in 1996 and is now run by son Ellis Ellis and Sue Ellis.
The open days on Thursday and Friday, March 2 and 3, will see the company show casing its second hand low vision and dyslexia solutions.
“For us it’s all about helping people to regain their independence and improve their quality of life, by assisting them to find the best, most affordable and suitable solutions that will make the biggest improvement to their lives,” explains managing director, Ellis.
Anyone wishing to attend is asked to book an appointment so their questions can be answered fully.
You can book an appointment or demonstration on 0800 002 5555.
Free tea and cake and on-site parking are also available
A spokesman for the company said the team was looking forward to the event.
“We provide the most advanced solutions to help those living with low vision (caused by eye conditions such as macular degeneration), blindness and other reading challenges like dyslexia.
“As well as being kinder to the environment, considering a secondhand unit can save hundreds from retail prices.
“Solutions include electronic magnifiers, from handheld to desktop size, wearable technology (for watching TV, cooking, hobbies etc.), large print keyboards, lighting and text-to-speech reading machines.”
