Holbeach United will play tomorrow (January 27) after their scheduled match at Desborough was switched to their Carters Park ground.
The Tigers, who are fighting for the ChromSport UCL Premier Division title, have not had a league game since January 6 after last week’s match at Daventry Town was called off due to a water-logged pitch and the week before’s game with Cogenhoe United was abandoned after a serious injury to Holbeach’s Dan Dougill.
And yesterday Thursday (January 18), another match was called off due to Desbourgh having failed to clear a tree that had fell on the pitch over a week ago,
Now though the game will go ahead at Holbeach.
The fate of the Premier Division title is in Holbeach’s own hands but they are facing a fixture backlog in the next few months being already at least two games behind the other teams at the top of the division even before this weekend’s fixtures.
They currently have four games in hand on leaders Newport Pagnall Town who are six points ahead of the fourth placed Tigers.
