Extra help for young gymnasts

Young Spalding gymnasts can look forward to a better training environment thanks to a recent donation.

The group has received a £250 cheque from Allison Homes to help maintain equipment and meet the running costs of the building.

Spalding and District Gymnastics Academy received the money via the Larkfleet Homes Communty Fund. It supports groups which focus on activities or enhance communities and operates within a ten mile radius of any

Larkfleet Homes or Allison Homes developments. There is currently an Allison development on the edge of Pinchbeck.

“The club plays a massive role in the community,” said academy spokesman Lynn Bell, who added it had recently spent £8,000 on new air conditioning and other equipment was also getting older.

Around 450 children, including those with disabilities, use the facilities each week.
