Emphatic Consti A lead the list of teams to qualify for Spalding and District Darts League’s finals night

It was cup week in the Spalding and District Darts League as some stellar showdowns were set-up for finals night.

In the Supreme Cup semi-final, Consti A booked their place in the final with an emphatic 7-0 win over Rose and Crown.

A fine showing saw 180s from Nick Moyses, Simon Waterfall and Andy Bingham.

In the other semi, Green Dragon beat Tigers A 4-3 in what was the game of the night.

Duggie McInerney had two 180s while also hitting a 15-dart-leg –winning both his games of the night.

Ash Allen had a 180 and a 116 check out, Claire Brookin hit a 180 and winning legs of 17 and 18 darts, Darren Royal had a 14-dart-leg and Stuart Ewins had a 180 and a 147 checkout.

In the Dick Morgan Cup semis, Consti D sealed their place in the final with a 5-2 win over Royal Mail Cart.

Singles wins by Nick Savic, Geoff Herd, Colin Beckett and Ady Smith proved more than enough to seal the success.

They will play league new boys Oscars Bar, who beat Draymans Arms 4-3.

Drayman’s put up a fight, but singles wins by Ian Tilley and John Charlton, who both hit 180s, were not enough.

In the bottom half of the Kelly Foster Cup, Tigers B reached the final with a 5-2 win over Abbey Hotel.

They won the triples, the pairs and had singles wins from Phil Horspool, Richard Brooks and Ben Carr.

In the top half of the draw, Lincoln Arms beat Pinchbeck FC 5-2 to book their place in the top half semi final and will play Tigers C later in the season.

Over the Christmas period there was a close battle as Green Dragon beat the Lincoln Arms 4-3 in the league with a fine 170 check out by Scott Williams and 180s for both Darren Royal and Steve Strangler.

  • The Spalding and District Darts League is holding its AGM on Monday, February 14 at Tigers Social Club in Holbeach (8.30pm).
