A 14-year-old from Spalding has reached new heights by flying a glider solo.
Elliott Dunbar’s skills have been deemed so impressive he’s been allowed to take to the skies solo at the minimum age you’re allowed to.
The Peterborough and Spalding Gliding Club member has been trained by his dad.
After taking a couple of training flights with his instructor Mike Newton, he was amazed to be allowed to fly solo.
Mike, who is also the chairman of the club, said: “Elliot has been taking glider flying lessons for the last year and completed 29 flights to date.
“He has applied himself with credit and worked hard to achieve this feat at such a young age.
“Elliott now intends to continue his training and progress to flying other types of glider.”
