There was frustration for Holbeach United as they let the lead slip and were held 2-2 by Swaffham United in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North.
John Yambasu was on song for the Tigers, scoring twice in the first half after the home side netted early on to take the lead.
But Holbeach struggled in the second period and with ten minutes to go Dan Roberts netted to earn a point for the side struggling towards the lower end of the table. Kieran Bruce netted their opener.
It meant more points dropping in Holbeach’s race for the play-offs.
“We’re a young side that can be inconsistant, sometimes in the same game like we were on Saturday,” said manager Danny Clifton. “I need to get it into the players that they are good enough to keep playing football.
“We played well in the first half and I said to stick to the game plan of passing the ball around and after ten minutes they will tire and get frustrated.
“But we kept giving the ball away and the pressure built. We were lucky not to lose in the end, but at least we didn’t.”
Holbeach are at Framlington Town on Saturday for two games in three weeks against the league leaders.
Tigers: Rigby, Nicholson, Johnson, H Henderson, F Henderson, Barnes, Mansuta, Bilitz, Davies, Compton, Yambasu. Subs: Carter, Millinson, Oldham, Smith, Clifton.
