South Holland charity Tonic Health has launched a new ‘Digital Den’ at its Holbeach Hub thanks to an internet provider.
The idea behind the room is to create a fun and safe space for local people to enjoy state-of-the-art technology.
Lightspeed Broadband has provided the equipment including the latest TVs and Virtual Reality headsets, gaming consoles, laptops, cameras and green screens.
It’s also providing fast broadband to the hub.
Kyle Summers, social media manager at Tonic Health, said: “We aim to improve both the physical and mental health and wellbeing of South Lincolnshire’s Communities through bringing people together, collaborative work and partnerships in shared spaces.
“Thanks to LightSpeed’s generosity, we are thrilled to be opening this Digital Den in Holbeach.
“With some of the latest and greatest technology it will be fantastic for children and teenagers to have access to the equipment, meet their friends, play and learn how to use technology from an early age, preparing them for the digital world we live in.”
Carme Mandzij, community engagement lead at LightSpeed Broadband said: “Working with Tonic Health to create such an inviting community space in Holbeach has been a pleasure, and we look forward to seeing it used.
“As Gigabit broadband is rolled out across the town it is great for people to learn how to use the latest technology and experience broadband happiness.”
