Dementia group’s tuneful tea

Members of Spalding based charity, Tonic Health Dementia Support Focus Group were treated to a special garden party with a brass band last week.

More than 25 members attended on a pleasantly sunny afternoon at Park Farm and were entertained by St Nicolas Brass Band during the afternoon courtesy of Coun Nigel Pepper.

“Their performances led by Tony Fell, were much enjoyed by all,” said Jean Gifford, dementia support co-ordinator.

“We had a lovely afternoon and our members really enjoyed being out in the sunshine with friends enjoying afternoon tea and sandwiches while being entertained by a brass band in a lovely country garden.”

Tonic Health would like to thank all their staff – ladies and gentlemen – who kindly volunteered as well as Tonic 44 Cafe for providing refreshments and Matt Clark for providing tables and chairs, all of which made the afternoon so special.

Tonic Health provides holistic therapies and local community support projects including dementia support, safe places, Tonic 44 Community Cafe, Spalding Men’s Shed and Surfleet Good Neighbour Scheme and recently started a veterans’ support project.
