Date set for library to re-open following roof work

Long Sutton Library is to reopen in May.

It’s been closed since December to allow for repairs to the building’s roof, but will reopen on Monday May 23.

The Click and Collect service that’s been running in its place will end at 1pm on Saturday May 7.

The library will then be closed for two weeks while associated internal works are completed, all scaffolding at site is safely removed and so that staff can return the library furniture and stock ready for the reopening.

In advance of the two-week closure customers will be able to borrow additional items above the usual 30 allowed. Return dates for items will be amended so that they are not due for return during the two-week closure.

Coun Lindsey Cawrey, executive member for libraries on Lincolnshire County Council, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming members and visitors back to Long Sutton Library; thank you for bearing us with whilst we carried out these repairs.”

Email longsutton.library@gll.org if you have any queries or concerns over the returning of items.
