Cyclist seriously injured in town centre collision

A cyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being involved in a collision in Spalding town centre this morning.

The incident also involving a car happened shortly after 6am this morning in Albion Street near the Castle Sports Complex.

The road is currently closed and police have urged the public to avoid the area.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said this morning (Thursday, January 12): “We are at the scene of a collision involving a male cyclist and a car.

“This was reported to us at 6.03am today. We remain at the scene.

“The cyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.”
