Cup glory for Crowland

Crowland Town put the disappointment of missing out on the Peterborough League title for a second year in a row behind them by winning the League Cup final.

They beat Oakham United 2-1 in the final at Market Deeping, thanks to goals from Harry Barsby and Archie Rickards.

In the Division Two play-offs, Tydd hopes of promotion were ended with a 5-1 defeat at Kings Cliffe. Matthew Cousins got their goal.

Brendan Taylor was named first-team players’ player of the year at Moulton Harrox. The Peterborough League side’s top scorer award went to Dec Earth, with Jack Forster winning the manager’s player of the year title.

The outstanding performance of the season honours were won by Nathan Smith for his Lincolnshire Cup final display.

Reserve team players’ player was Faisal Abdelnabi and the manager’s player award went to Charlie Wallace and most improved player was Layton Townsend-Fox. Clubmen of the year were Stuart Manning and Marcus Holcombe.
