Spalding Ladies made it two wins out of two by seeing off Scunthorpe at the Memorial Field on Sunday.
After winning the toss and electing to field under overcast skies, Spalding made a strong start with Jones (0-12) bowling economically from one end and Jex (2-17) picking up wickets from the other.
Further wickets fell to leave Scunthorpe wobbling with four wickets down but some spirited middle order hitting from Scupham and Coggon was giving the scoreboard a more than respectable look.
Three wickets from Barratt, two from Buttery and some excellent fielding, including a very good run-out from Sawyer, restricted Scunthorpe to 91 all out inside 34 overs.
In response, Spalding started very strongly with Featherstone (7) and Buttery (19) taking the score to 32 before Featherstone was trapped LBW.
Jones contributed a quick-fire 16 but her wicket signalled a mini collapse and left Spalding stuttering on 67-6.
A steady innings was required and that is what Jex (16no) produced, turning the strike over before finishing with a flurry of fours to win the game in the 24th over.
For contribution with bat and ball, Lucy Buttery was player of the match.
Next up is Louth Ladies at home on Sunday for an ever improving and so far unbeaten Spalding.
