Cranfield’s header earns fine win

After an excellent win on Saturday, Pinchbeck United will be looking to get back into play off contention over the Christmas period.

Harry Cranfireld’s fantastic first half header gave the Knights a win at home to Stanway Pegasus in the Thurlow Nunn Division One North.
He rose highest at the back post to power home Joe Melson’s cross and give the Knights a win heading into the festive fixtures.
Third in the table Stanway pushed for an equaliser but Pinchbeck held firm.
The Knights are 11th in the table, 13 points off the final play off spot but with games in hand on those above them.
They travel to Leiston U23s on Saturday before hosting Holbeach United in the derby in a 12.30pm kick off on Boxing Day.
The Knights also have a trip to Whittlesey Athletic on Saturday, December 28 in a 1.30pm kick off.
Knights: Martin, Jaine, Balding, Melson, Cranfield, Brooks, Stevens, Doran, Ward, Cullen, Gagyi. Subs: Tate, Panton, Howlett.
Attendance: 40
