COVID-19 cases in Holbeach, town medical centre says

Cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Holbeach according to the town’s medical centre.

The Holbeach Medical Centre has posted on its website urging people follow government guidance in the town as a result of the confirmed cases.

The statement says: “With confirmed cases in the Holbeach locality we are asking EVERYONE to ensure they are following the Government guidance at all times.”

“Please DO NOT attend the surgery if you, or anyone you have been in contact with, has a new persistent cough or fever – Even if you have an appointment.

The site continues: “The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases.

“The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms

“Stay at home if you have either:

  • a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • a new, continuous cough – this means you’ve started coughing repeatedly

“Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

“You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you’re staying at home.

“Testing for coronavirus is not needed if you’re staying at home.”
