Council backs parking change

Parking restrictions on a South Holland trading estate are going to be implemented by the county council.

Members of Lincolnshire County Council’s planning and regulation committee have backed the proposal at a meeting this week.

The plan for yellow lines and restricted waiting areas on Edison Court, Pinchbeck, were first mooted by the authority in October 2021.

The proposal went before committee originally in May of last year.

There were nine objections to the waiting restrictions and the matter was postponed after one of the businesses changed ownership.

Members of the committee this week voted in favour of implementing the restrictions that were discussed previously.

There had been recent visits to the industrial estate and problems with parking on the road at Edison Court had remained, the meeting was told on Monday morning.

There will be bays for short-term parking on the right side of the road, but the rest will have a parking ban, although restrictions will not apply evenings and weekends.

If drivers park on Enterprise Way instead, the report to members of the committee said it would be safe.

“The carriageway here is of adequate width to support parking without causing obstruction,” the report said.

There will be four short-term bays created on the no-through road before the restrictions are implemented.
