Gail Follington claimed the Munson Cup crown at Welland Yacht Club on Sunday.
With the sun out and the temperature already high, the first race of the day was the third round of the Morning Points Series.
Some ten boats took to the start, but with little wind it was a long series of tacks to the windward mark. First around was Ros Nickols, followed by Andy Prior then Brian Cobb and Geri van Haren.
A traffic jam then occurred at the buoy for the remaining boats of Alan Cox, Richard Stedman, Neal Tack and crew Rebecca Slator, then three of the younger juniors Freya and Samuel Willerton and Olivia Hall.
In the end, Prior was first over the line, followed by van Haren and Nickols.
After handicaps were applied, Prior held onto the win, followed by Nickols, Cobb and Cox.
The afternoon action was the final two races of the Munson Cup personal handicap series.
With Prior, Nickols, van Haren and junior Hall calling it a day and Gail add Katie Follington joining, eight lined up for the start.
The wind did slightly increase during the race, with Gail Follington first over the line, followed by Cobb and then Tack-Slator.
Cobb would take the win under handicap, with Follington snr holding second from Freya Willerton.
The final race of the day and the series saw the wind change direction and increase further.
Follington snr was again first over the line, followed by Cox and Tack-Slator.
Personal handicap handed the win to the smaller Toppers, with Katie Follington first, Samuel Willerton second and Freya Willerton third.
Gail Follington may not have managed victory in either race, but still did enough for overall glory.
