Coelho leaves it late

Denis Coelho’s last-minute goal earned Holbeach United all the Eastern Counties League points against Parson Drove.

It stretched the Tigers’ impressive run to just one defeat in nine games and came after a 2-2 draw at home to Long Melford. Callum Wright struck both goals and manager Callum Lawe said: “We took control in the second half and what pleased me most was our mentality. We took the lead twice, showed bravery and kept pushing.”

Togetherness and mentality was key to the win over Parson Drove as Holbeach signed off the year with a win, making it third time lucky after defeat in both the reverse league fixture and at home in the League Cup.
