Club and legal firm join forces

Members of the Inner Wheel Club of Spalding and Roythornes Solicitors have joined forces to collect for various charities both nationally and internationally.

The Inner Wheel Club is collecting a number of items for Roythornes, including hard backed books for a local bookshop, undergarments for vulnerable women and children in Africa, and school uniforms for children overseas.

In turn, Roythornes are collecting a number of items for Inner Wheel, including drinks cans for Helipads for hospitals, ringpulls from the cans for a charity in the Philippines who turn them into handbags and jewellery, and material to make sanitary packs for a ladies’ and girls’ charity in Africa

Both organisations collect many other items individually for very good causes.

International Inner Wheel is one of the largest women’s service voluntary organisations in the world and is active in more than 104 countries with 3,979 clubs and 108,614 members.

An Inner Wheel Spalding spokesman said: “We are very fortunate that this year the International President is one of our ‘home grown’ members.

“Inner Wheel has three main key objectives: To promote true friendship; To encourage the Ideals of personal service; To foster international understanding.”

The Inner Wheel Club of Spalding is a very active club, meeting once a month at Welland Yacht Club. In addition to club meetings many social events are arranged within the club together with visits to other clubs and many social visits of their own.
