A South Holland charity has been able to donate £3,000 to good causes so far this year.
Despite being a tough year, Chosen Charity was also able to give more than £25,000 to local good causes across 2022.
And William Stukeley School was among the first batch of recipients to be helped this year when a cheque for £500 was presented to be used for resources in their early years groups.
Manager Sam Flavell said things had been more difficult last year as a result of the financial difficulties being faced.
“Donations were down and it was more difficult. The amount we were able to give out was slightly down as a result,” she said.
“But we have relaunched our Fleet Street shop which no longer sells clothes, but has a huge range of crafts, bric-a-brac and books,” she added.
She also urged people not leave donations on the shops’ doorsteps overnight. Both are open from 9am to 4pm and there is also a collection service if needed.
The charity raises money for local good causes and has been helping the community. Pre-pandemic it was donating up to £50,000 a year to the local community.
The charity has recently donated to a vet for the treatment of a cat when the owner couldn’t afford a life-saving procedure.
Money has also been donated to provide a defibrillator in a Holbeach former phone box.
