Children are ‘happy’ at Sunflower Lodge, says Ofsted

“Children make good progress in all aspects of their learning and development in readiness for school,” Ofsted inspectors have said of a childcare provider.

Sunflower Lodge, in Elsoms Way, Pinchbeck, was rated “good”.

The report said: “The management team demonstrates passion and dedication to providing the best possible outcomes for children and their families.

“Well-qualified practitioners know the children well and have a secure knowledge of how they learn. Staff form strong bonds with children. This means children are happy and confident in the nursery and develop a sense of security in their surroundings.”

The provider, with 128 children on roll, offers “very good” opportunities to play outdoors. It is not yet outstanding as it does not always seek enough information from parents when children start to plan precisely for their learning straight off, the report said.

Plus “the performance management system is not rigorous enough to ensure that the good standard of teaching is raised even higher”.
