Chelsea’s top accolade

A Spalding hairdresser has won a national award.

Chelsea Askey won the ‘Best for Blonde’ category at the Hair and Beauty Awards in Birmingham on Saturday.
“I’m overwhelmed,” she said. “I’ve been in the industry now over 20 years and have won a few awards before but more local awards.
“This is my first huge award with The Hair and Beauty Awards.”
Chelsea says she specialises in balayage and blonding services and has recently joined Sharon Tear in Strands salon.
After being nominated for the award judges had to follow her work for a while, with the whole process of judging taking a year.
“You’re constantly being watched and you just want to always do right for your client,” she continued.”
