Charity workers deserve an award

The 2024 Pride of South Holland Awards will take place in June of this year and we want to hear your nominees, including in the Charity Worker of the Year award.

The category is sponsored by district councillors Jack Tyrrell and Jo Reynolds, who want to know about those people giving free time for not for profit organisations.
“Charity workers and the organisations they work for or volunteer, are the backbone in our community,” Coun Tyrrell said. “They do so much to ensure that things happen in the community and help to make the functions be the best that they can be.”
Coun Reynolds added: “The Pride of South Holland Awards is such an important event each year to recognise those in our district.
“It is such an incredible event when all of the nominees and the people in our community come together to celebrate each other every year.”
The awards ceremony will take place at the South Holland Centre in Spalding on Sunday, June 24.
The winner of the award last year was Russell Kirk. Russell was nominated because he worked hard in the community and helped a number of groups.
Organiser Jan Whitbourn said: “I am very grateful for the kind support from my council colleagues for this very important award that recognises those who give so much to our community.
“Without the efforts of those who keep our charities and non-profits running, our community would be a much poorer place.
“Our local charities and non-profits deliver so many crucial functions of our community, and it is vitally important that we recognise those who do so much.”
To nominate someone for this, or any of the other Pride of South Holland Awards, please send as much information as possible – ideally a minimum of one side of A4 – to [email protected].
The more information that you can send the better, this really helps the judges when selecting a winner.
