Spalding Cats Protection League is hoping South Holland residents can help make Christmas for the animals in their care.
The organisation was so overwhelmed by the amount of contributions collected by the Spalding Voice last year, that it is hoping to repeat the result this Christmas.
Staff and volunteers have had a really busy year, with more cats and kittens than ever coming through the doors to be re-homed.
Many need veterinary treatment and all need to find a loving forever home.
They are fostered with a group of volunteers while the charity tries to find a permanent address for them.
The Voice is a collecting point again this year and members of the public can drop off cat-friendly goods to our Goodison Road offices on the Lincs Gateway until noon on December 20.
“Last year was amazing and we had a fantastic response which was brilliant,” said SCPL’s Sandra Gelsthorpe.
Unopened cat food, both wet and dry, litter, toys, treats and items including new litter trays or cat beds will all be welcome. The charity will collect all the items in the week before Christmas and they will be shared with the foster homes looking after the rescued cats and kittens.
“We also need things like books of stamps because everything like that has a cost which it can be difficult to avoid,” said Sandra.
