Whaplode Christmas bingo cash delight

There was plenty to celebrate at the bingo earlier this month.

The total raised by Phyllis Baxter at Whaplode Village Hall saw a cheque for £576.60 presented to the village hall funds.

“Many players were wearing Christmas jumpers and it was lovely. It made it go so well and everyone got a free mince pie and all the prizes were on a Christmas theme, with crackers, turkey and pudding,” said Phyllis.

She was presented with a bouquet from Jannette Newell for her work in helping the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and raising £369.10 from a bingo event.

All the kitchen staff and score checker were given a box of chocolates and the caller was rewarded with a tin of biscuits and a gift voucher.

“It was a very good bingo,” said Phyllis.

The next bingo will be held on December 21 and the doors open at 6pm for eyes down an hour later.
