A couple of residents at a Spalding care home recently celebrated clocking-up nearly a double century.
Grace Heeley marked her 100 years and Lilian Brown celebrated her 95th birthday at St John’s care home on Thursday.
Staff arranged a special tea party with singing and dancing to mark the occasion.
“We wish both Grace and Lilian a very happy birthday and congratulate them on reaching their milestone birthdays together.
“Grace’s family were not able to celebrate with her so we made a big effort to make sure she enjoyed her special day.
“She was delighted to receive her card from the Queen and enjoyed looking at her cards and gifts from her friends at St John’s,” said home manager Jolene Anderson.
Grace has lived at the care home since 2014 and is keen on crafts, enjoying both drawing and painting. She recently helped to create a blanket with other residents.
Both Grace and Lilian are members of the St John’s choir.
They were among more than 50 residents at the home to receive their first vaccine in January, which they were both pleased to be given.
The home’s chef Adrian created two beautiful birthday cakes for both residents while staff gathered to sing happy birthday.
