Celebrating a year of success

1st Spalding Boys’ Brigade and 2nd Spalding Girls’ Brigade recently held their celebration evening and presentation of awards at Spalding Baptist Church with a jubilee theme.

Relatives and church members joined in some royal-themed quizzes and games before all the members were presented with badges and awards gained during the year.

These included the Queen’s Badge, the highest award in the Brigades, which was gained by Edward Parson and Joshua Clarke and was presented by Diane Clay, church secretary.

This was the culmination of two years’ work, volunteering in the community, in the church and company, learning a skill and physical accomplishment.

This was followed by a buffet, prepared by members of the two companies, with a Union Jack made from cupcakes to follow the jubilee theme.
