Caress reaches 200-run milestone

Adam Caress celebrated his 200th Parkrun with second place in the weekly Snowden Field event in Crowland.

The Halmer Harriers runner completed the 5K course in 22 minutes 29 seconds, just over half-a-minute behind winner Tom Jackson, of Eye Community Runners.
Caress, whose personal best time is 20:05 ran his first Parkrun at Durham in June 2018 and has since chalked up 134 top-10 finishes, including five wins at Crowland and others at Whittlesey, Hunstanton and Loch Neaton.
Simon Eldridge was the only other Halmer Harrier taking to the grass track at Snowden Field, finishing 42nd in 42:12.
In Cambridgeshire, Jayne Pell came 271st of 307 runners in the Wimpole Estate Parkrun in 40:08, 18 places ahead of clubmate Kathryn Chapman, 47:24.
Janet Strickland was 360th of 621 at Peterborough’s Ferry Meadows, 31:08, while Mike O’Connor made the lengthy journey to Kirkwall and a time of 22:59 earned him fifth place in the Orkney Island event.
p This year’s West Pinchbeck 10K, organised by Halmer Harriers, will take place on Sunday, September 29.
The event is sponsored by JH Auctions of Spalding and the perfect flat route is ideal for any level of runner.
