Car wash cleans up for £600

Spalding firefighters are thanking the local community for their generosity after raising nearly £600 at a car wash.
Crews raised money for The Fire Fighters Charity, which provides life enhancing support for serving and retired firefighters and their families.
Despite poor weather, many people turned out to show their support and gave generously to help raise almost twice as much as money as last time.
Louisa Thornton, development crew manager at Spalding Fire Station, said: “We raised a massive amount of money and I really can’t thank everyone enough for helping to make the day such a success.
“All the money raised will go to The Fire Fighters Charity, an organisation that is very close to all our hearts in the fire service.
“We all know someone who has been in need of its help and know the difference it makes.”
