Cake on offer for 200th celebration

Cakes will be on offer at Crowland’s Snowden Field Parkrun on Saturday when it celebrates its 200th event.

Organisers are hoping for record numbers at the weekly event to run, jog, walk, dog walk or volunteer.
The first Parkrun was held in April 2019 and the current record number of runners was set in April this year, when 197 turned up.
Parkrun is open to everyone of whatever speed or ability but participants need to register at parkrun.org.uk
There is limited car parking at the venue so anyone taking part is urged to park in the town centre and walk the five minutes to the start line.
Adam Caress, fifth 21mins 17secs, and Richard Williams, seventh 23:17, were both in the first ten finishers at last Saturday’s run.
Simon Eldridge’s time of 24:52 earned him 16th spot.
Over in Peterborough at the Ferry Meadows Parkrun, Jayne Pell, 479th 38:11, Katherine Baxter, 481st 38:26, and Kathryn Chapman, 513th 42:06, were among the 552 finishers.
Janet Strickland was the sole Halmer Harrier at the Rutland Water Parkrun, completing the 5K course in 31:55 for 233rd place of the 321 runners.
